supremo decano de la Corte Suprema, Francisco Távara, asumió este mediodía la
presidencia del máximo organismo judicial del Perú y convocó a elecciones para
el próximo miércoles 25 de julio.

mandato durará hasta el 31 de diciembre de 2018, fecha en que el renunciante Rodríguez
debía concluir su mandato. La ley no permite la reelección inmediata en la presidencia
el Poder Judicial.
La
renuncia de Rodríguez se produce luego que sus pares le reclamaron apartarse
del cargo como resultado de una crisis institucional, resultante de denuncias
de corrupción de magistrados, confirmadas por audios revelados por el portal

Luego de conocerse la renuncia de Rodríguez, algunos miembros del Congreso plantearon la posibilidad de denunciarlo constitucionalmente, en tanto prosiguen las investigaciones contra funcionarios del sistema de justicia involucrados en la crisis de corrupción que ha remecido al Perú.
